Original 1921 German 10 Pfennig Notgeld issued by the city of Bielefeld.
This attractive blue-and-black issue features a view of Bielefeld on one side and the historic “Das Alte Kornhaus” on the reverse. The inscription beneath the building notes:
“Erbaut 1565 – Abgebroch. 1897” meaning “Built in 1565 – Demolished in 1897.”
The note is dated June 1921 and was issued by the Magistrat of Bielefeld, with redemption through the municipal savings bank after official cancellation.
A nice architectural-history issue with appeal to collectors of German Notgeld, Bielefeld memorabilia, and early Weimar-era paper money.
