Original 1921 German Notgeld issued by the Gemeinde Mülsen St. Jacob in Saxony.
This 50 Pfennig note features the local coat of arms with two heraldic lions on one side. The reverse shows a humorous illustrated street scene of two men walking home, accompanied by the verse:
“Noch als bezecht man heimwärts zog,
Lönt auf die Freundschaft manches hoch.”
“Even as they staggered home tipsy, many a cheer was still raised to friendship.”
