Original German Notgeld (emergency money) issued by the city of Zörbig in 1921.
This 5 Pfennig note features a bold black-and-cream graphic design with a large central “5” and “Notgeld der Stadt Zörbig.” It was issued during Germany’s post-WWI period when municipalities and other organizations produced local emergency currency because of shortages of regular circulating money.
