Original Philadelphia Inquirer / Public Ledger newspaper dated July 9, 1945. Camden and South Jersey Edition.
Historic World War II issue published during the final weeks of the Pacific War. Front-page headline reports U.S. attacks on Tokyo-area airfields and Japanese shipping: “Two Tokio Airfields Raided, 16 Jap Ships Sunk, Damaged; Chinese Rout Amoy Invaders.”
This issue was published less than one month before the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Japan’s subsequent surrender.
Original vintage newspaper, not represented as a reproduction. Shows expected age-related toning, center folds, edge wear, small tears/chips and other wear consistent with an approximately 80-year-old newspaper. Please examine photographs carefully for condition.
Stored in a protective sleeve. Excellent WWII display or historical collection piece.
