Official 1972 American Revolution Bicentennial commemorative medal produced by the United States Mint.
Features George Washington on the obverse with the inscription American Revolution Bicentennial 1972. The reverse features the historic Sons of Liberty, Liberty Tree, colonial tax stamp and “Join or Die” imagery.
This was the first medal issued in the U.S. Mint’s 1972–1976 American Revolution Bicentennial series and was designed by noted medallic sculptor Ralph J. Menconi.
