Vintage Chinese export long red beaded necklace featuring individually knotted graduated round beads and a large carved red focal bead with traditional Chinese decoration.
The focal bead incorporates a carved Shou/longevity-style motif, decorative blue enamel/cloisonné-style accents, ornamental knotwork and a long red silk-style tassel. Necklace is finished with an ornate oval clasp stamped SILVER.
Approximately 30 inches long as shown, excluding the additional focal/tassel drop.
The exact composition of the smooth red beads has not been tested and is therefore not represented as coral or any particular gemstone. The carved focal is described as cinnabar-style lacquer based on appearance and construction.
