Beautiful vintage hand-carved stone elephant family/procession featuring four elephants arranged from smallest to largest on a gently curved stone base. The carving is made from naturally variegated stone, most likely Indian soapstone/steatite, with attractive shades of green, cream, tan and reddish brown running through the individual elephants. Each elephant is individually carved with raised trunks, facial details, ears and other hand-finished features.
The underside retains part of its original “MADE IN INDIA” label along with remnants of older inventory/price labels. Measures approximately 7¼ inches long and about 2½–3 inches tall at the largest elephant.
Vintage pre-owned condition with surface scratches, small marks and natural variations in the stone. Because this is a hand-carved piece, there are also irregularities associated with the carving and material. Please review the close-up photos carefully for condition.
